PAGEO Research Institute was elected one of the 16+1 Think Tank Network Members
In March 2017 Pallas Athéné Geopolitical Research Institute was elected the 64th member of the ”16+1 Think Tank Network“ coordinated by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and consisting of Central-Eastern European research institutes.
As part of the ”16+1 cooperations” coordinating the relationship of China and 16 Central-Eastern European countries, the Think Tank Network between China and Central-Eastern Europe (abbreviated as “16+1 Think Tank Network”) was founded at the initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China in 2015. This international scientific network aims to establish a high-level cooperation and information system between the institutions of the relevant countries. Over sixty research institutes operating in the European countries are coordinated by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
The “16+1 Think Tank Network” provides an institutional basis for the joint research activity and the exchange of researchers. At the roundtable discussions, seminars and annual summit meetings economic, financial, educational, cultural and investment issues are talked through in order to support the development of the relationship between China and the Central and Eastern European Region as well as the European Union.
Through this cooperation, Pallas Athéné Geopolitical Research Institute has the opportunity to establish closer relations with both the regional and the Chinese institutions as well as initiate joint research projects at international level. Besides, in representation of Hungary, it can efficiently facilitate the enforcement of the international and foreign political interests of the country and the region.
