The New World Order conference – Invitation
21st century brings us to a new geopolitical reality: the unipolar world, created in the last decades, and dominated by the United States on every level is questioned by different actors. However, since that time new global powers have emerged – or returned to the global politics. Rapidly developing China and India, the ASEAN bloc, Russia, emerging from the ground after the great collapse, Brazil, trying to become the major power in South-America – all of them would like to get a piece of cake, would like to get a share from the power games. After the main topic of the last year’s conference – the role of international institutions – this year our main topic will be “integration and multipolarity”. The conference will try to find answers to the following questions: can we still speak about unipolar world? May we see the return of the bipolar world (with new setup), or are we experiencing the emerging of a multipolar world? Can smaller countries become rivals of the United States’ ruled world order by integrating in regional blocs? What could be the role of Central and Eastern Europe and the V4 countries in a multipolar world? We are focusing on the following topics:
- Geopolitics of regional integrations
- The integration of the V4 countries in the changing world order
The conference will be held on 8th November 2018, Thursday (08:30-16:00)
Conference venue: Gerbeaud House – 1051 Budapest, Vörösmarty tér 7-8.
